La Vecchia Ristorante

La Vecchia Ristorante is off my radar as it’s based in Eglinton and I don’t usually venture there but my good friend Johnny, suggested that we eat there for dinner before watching Suicide Squad at the movie theatre near-by and made reservations there for us.

La Vecchia has a lovely and casually elegant atmosphere that’s perfect for a date night or a dinner out with friends. We weren’t exactly dressed up but it didn’t feel like we were out of place. We were seated promptly and our waiter proceeded to tell us about their daily specials and left us to look over the menu.

Fresh bread, olive oil and balsamic was brought out promptly after our orders were placed, and it wasn’t long before our mains arrived.

I usually order pastas whenever I go to an Italian restaurant but I decided to change up and order a seafood dish. To be honest, I thought my order would come with some form of pasta although the menu didn’t specify it. Silly me. The dish was deliciously creamy and the seafood taste really cooked well into the tomato broth but because I usually eat more than just what I ordered, I was left feeling a little hungry.

Ferrero Rocher Gelato

To fix  that, I got the Ferrero Rocher Gelato, their daily special dessert that day and my God, was it mind-blowing good. I love chocolate, and Ferrero Rocher is the perfect chocolate to turn into a dessert. I would have 2 or 3 of that alone if I could, but I didn’t want to look like a human elephant, although my friends know and accept that about me.

If you’re ever craving Italian and are in the area, check them out!
