Having just returned from Tokyo for a second round, I figured it’d be a good idea to share a little more about what I know.
Check out the original post written in 2016 for the more general tips about Japan here. This post will more specifically be targeting Tokyo, and you may draw some parallels from my previous post (for those who haven’t checked it out). …Read More
I’ve been to many places but none of them left an impact on me like Locals Only did. Maybe it’s because they have this awesome current promo of half priced wine and buck a shuck oysters everyday from 5-8pm, or it’s the awesome service, kickass atmosphere and delicious tapa style food. Whatever they’re doing, they’re doing it right. …Read More
There’s a few well-known names that pop up in conversations and Google searches when you’re looking for fine-dining experiences in Toronto. George Restaurant was something that came up a couple of times but I haven’t had the chance to check out until recently.
Located on 111C Queen Street East, George Restaurant’s dinner menu includes A La Carte options and Dinner Tasting of Five, Seven and Ten Courses, as well as Vegetarian course options and wine pairings for the Five or Seven Course Menus. …Read More
One of the many things I try to do as a foodie, is to push myself to try new things and trying out a variety of cultural cuisines is no exception to my mental list of things to accomplish before I achieve full-fledge pro foodie status.
I’ve always wanted to try Ethiopian cuisine but never found the opportunity to until Lisa invited me to her first ever media tasting event for Ethiopiques.
Ever since my favourite Indian restaurant closed down on Queen Street, I haven’t really been able to find an Indian restaurant I’d like to sit in and eat at, aside from the usual takeouts I’d do via Just-Eat online. Enter Pukka, a restaurant that challenges you to take what you know of the usual Indian cuisine and modernize that thought with delicious and creative twists. …Read More
I’m a big fan of Izakayas. There’s something about the cozy environment, friendly loud greetings you get as you walk in and out, and not to mention the amazing food, tapa style that appeals to me. …Read More
There’s quite a few of restaurants in Toronto that comes to mind when one’s thinking of good food, dressing up and splurging on a meal. Does Jacobs & Co Steakhouse appear on that list? If not, you should most definitely make a mental note to add it to that imaginary list of fine dining that’s worth checking out. Located on 12 Brant Street, the exterior is as unpretentious as the servers and staff inside, and that’s definitely something in my books. …Read More
Because a couple of friends reached out asking about my trip to Japan, and wanted tips and suggestions, I thought I’d put together a list of general things, food recommendations and things to do/see for everyone interested in visiting Japan in the near future. Hope this helps! Feel free to reach out if you’ve got any questions or leave a comment if you’ve got something awesome to share with fellow travellers 🙂
I had the pleasure of being invited to a Private Tasting & Media Event by Patrick (@FeedMyPhone) at The Poké Box and of course I couldn’t say no to that. The Poké Box (TBP) is located at 36 Toronto Street, about a 10 minutes walk away from my office which makes it a convenient option for a quick lunch whenever I feel like a walk is needed out of my busy work day. …Read More
Being a self-proclaimed foodie, I’ve been to many different food establishments and tried all kinds of dishes from around the World, so I’d like to think I know what I’m talking about when I say this…High Spirits Izakaya is by far, one of the best places to go to.
Some places are either better at the food they serve or their service. This place provides you both and so much more. The dishes served at HSI are not your typical izakaya dishes, but mind you, it will blow your mind. Chef Go and Miki run the place with lots of heart and passion and it clearly shows in the food they bring to you and their welcoming personalities. …Read More
